Embassy welcomes and grants country clearance to Dr. George Thoma, Chief, Communications Engineering Branch, National Library of Medicine, NIH to travel to Marbella and Alicante September 5-14 to present technical paper, "Baysian Learning of 2D Document Layout Models for Automated Preservation Metadata Extraction," at the Visualization, Imaging, and Image Processing (VIIP) 2004 Conference and to give a seminar, "Automated Metadata Extraction from Scanned Medical Journals," at the University of Alicante. ¶2. Embassy understands that no other assistance is necessary. ¶3. Visitors are reminded that bearers of diplomatic and official passports coming to Spain on official business need to obtain a Spanish visa prior to arrival in Spain. ¶4.
