REASONS: 1.4(b),(d ) ¶1. (U) This is an action request. See paragraph 2. ¶2. (S) On 23 June, Pol Counselor delivered Ref demarche to MFA DDG Safak Gokturk. Gokturk described the inquiry as "serious" and said that he would pursue it. On 24 June, Econoff delivered same demarche to Ahmet Arda, MFA Department Head, Office of the Deputy Director for Research and Intelligence. Arda likewise said he would pursue the inquiry. Arda also asked that USG provide whatever additional information it has concerning IIRO, e.g., where based, aliases used, related organizations, etc. Post requests that such information be provided soonest.
