1. (S) CDA met with Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai
September 21 and presented the demarche and background
materials provided reftel. Rifai said that Jordan would "of
course" join the U.S. in seeking designation of Jamiat
al-Tawhid wal Jihad. Emboffs also made reftel demarche with
the Foreign Ministry and Central Bank of Jordan.
2. (U) If USUN does not receive timely confirmation of a
letter supporting the U.S. submission from the Jordanian UN
MIssion in New York, please notify post for appropriate
follow-up.
3. (U) Baghdad minimize considered.
