1. (C) Embassy Amman and the Russian Mission have a regular
dialogue at the DCM level on a range of issues, including
counterterrorism. The Russian DCM participates in the G-8
Counterterrorism Action Group (CTAG) meetings, most recently
hosted by Post on February 5. Although he thus far has
contributed little of substance with regard to Russia's CT
agenda or activities in Jordan, we remain in contact to
organize future CTAG meetings. However, we see little real
convergence with Russia on CT issues in Jordan as Russia has
little to add to the exceptional level of U.S.-Jordan
cooperation in this regard.
