DCM delivered reftel talking points to MFA Assistant Under
Secretary for Political Affairs Ambassador Tariq Al Haidan

on August 17. DCM highlighted the importance of the
subject, particularly since the U.S. and UAE are discussing
a bilateral PSI shipboarding agreement, which is supported
by Abu Dhabi Deputy Crown Prince and Armed Forces Chief of
Staff Mohammed bin Zayed (MbZ). Al Haidan said he
understood our concern and would relay the points to the
UAE representatives participating in the Durban conference.
