Abu Dhabi Human Rights Reporting Officer Susan Raddant looks forward to participating in the first DRL Human Rights Officers Conference September 28-29 in Washington, D.C. Our Political Section has already notified DRL of Poloff's attendance via email, and suggested ideas for additional issues to be discussed at the course, per reftel request. ¶2. Poloff will arrive at Dulles International Airport at 2:50 PM September 23 via UA 921. Poloff will check in to the State Plaza Hotel, per cable recommendation, September 27, and check out September 30. Departure time from Dulles is 9:35 PM September 30 via UA 932. Poloff will provide own lodging from arrival night to morning of check in. ¶3. Per reftel recommendation, post has approved one day of consultations on September 27, and thanks DRL for offering to assist with arranging meetings with counterparts in the Office of Country Reports and Asylum Affairs. Any recommendations or assistance with arranging additional consultations, especially with NGOs specifically following UAE Human Rights, Trafficking in Persons, and/or Religious Freedoms issues, would be greatly appreciated. ¶4. Paragraph eight of reftel states that DRL has some limited travel funds available for priority posts with demonstrated need. As our travel funding is very limited, Post appreciates DRL's consideration of Abu Dhabi as a priority post eligible for funding assistance. ALBRIGHT
