1. (C) Charge delivered reftel points as well as the
names of the 12 detained MEK members with ties to the
UAE to MFA Under Secretary Abdullah Rashid Al-Nuaimi
on May 17. As the 12 individuals did not appear to be
UAE citizens, Abdullah Rashid said that UAE interest
in them was unclear. The UAEG would examine the names
and get back to us. If the UAE was interested in any
of them, Charge said that the U.S. would facilitate a
visit to Camp Ashraf of a UAE delegation.
