As expected (Reftel),on August 28 the Government of Nepal
(GON) declared the Maoists and organizations affiliated with
them terrorists. The announcement was issued at 1800 local
time. The GON had lifted the terrorist designation shortly
after a ceasefire was announced on January 29.
