1. (C) DCM delivered reftel demarche November 10 to MFA
Director General for Northeastern Mediterranean Affairs
Ertugrul Apakan. Apakan said he would pass the information
and USG position to the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia.
2. (C) Deputy Polcouns followed up demarche later on
November 10 and on November 12 with Apakan's deputy Necip
Eguz. Eguz confirmed the information was passed to the
Turkish Embassy in Nicosia but said the MFA had not yet
received a reaction or news of any further developments.
