On June 16, in a follow-up discussion, al-Ayed confirmed that Jordan had received an invitation to the meeting from the UN, that FM Muasher would not be able to attend, but that Planning Minister Bassem Awadallah may. He stressed that no final decision regarding Minister Awadallah's participation had been made, but promised to inform the Embassy as soon as one was.
