At approximately 1:45 p.m. on July 31, Nepal's Crown Princess
Hemani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah gave birth to a son. In
accordance with Hindu custom, the child's name will be chosen
in a ceremony after 11 days. Crown Prince Paras and his wife
already have one child, a girl born in December 2000. The
boy, their first son, is now second in line to inherit
Nepal's throne (Reftel).
