1. (C) During a November 11 conversation on Cote d'Ivoire
with Ambassador Jeter, ECOWAS ExecSec Chambas proposed a
meeting of the Liberia contact group in Dakar on December

2. (C) Chambas also said Senegalese President Wade would
travel to Liberia on November 23 and that Wade hoped to
meet LURD reps in Dakar prior to his Liberia visit.
Chambas hoped the proposed date would allow A/S Kasteiner
to attend the Friends of Liberia meeting during his
scheduled trip to the region to attend a G-8 NEPAD meeting.



3. (C) Chambas indicated the French had already agreed to
the Contact Group meeting and the British would be
approached soon. Discussion of Cote d'Ivoire will be
covered SEPTEL.
