DESIGNATION OF IRAN-RELATED ENTITIES UNDER E.O. 13382

1. (SBU) On February 24, Post notified appropriate government
officials in Hong Kong and Macau of the February 10
designation under Executive Order (E.O.) 13382 of an
individual and four companies affiliated with Iran's
Revolutionary Guard (IRGC),per reftel.
2. (SBU) Banking regulators from Hong Kong and Macau welcomed
the notification and stated they required locally licensed
banks to monitor the US Department of Treasury's website for
US financial sanctions list updates. Regulator guidelines
also mandate the reporting of identified suspicious
transactions and/or business relationships to respective
financial intelligence units.
