(SBU) In the absence of Foreign Minister Kadyrbek Sarbayev 
and other responsible officials, Post delivered reftel points 
on the Copenhagen Accord to the MFA upon their receipt 
(January 27). The Ambassador met with Foreign Minister 
Sarbayev on February 2 and delivered the points again, 
personally emphasizing the importance of this issue to the 
USG and our strong desire to see Kyrgyzstan associate itself 
with the Copenhagen Accord. Sarbayev said that he wanted 
Kyrgyzstan to be active on climate change and that he would 
consult with the members of the Kyrgyz delegation who 
attended the Copenhagen Conference to decide on next steps.
