1. (C) Political Officer delivered reftel demarche to MOFA's
Human Rights Division officer Kazuyoshi Soneda. Soneda
responded that Japan's position is to keep negotiating the
draft outcome document for the Durban Review Conference. He
stated, "Japan is concerned about the language as it applies
to Israel, as well as about the language as it applies to
freedom of expression and defamation of religion.
