(U) In the lead-up to Sweden's EU Presidency in the second half of
2009, senior Swedish officials have the following travel plans as
provided by the MFA Americas Office.
Ministerial Travel Plans: February through May

-- Gunilla Carlsson, Minister for International Development
Cooperation: February 9-10, to launch a report from German Marshall
Fund on Global Development; March 24-26, to present the Climate
Commission report; April to attend the World Bank's Annual spring
meeting; May to New York.
-- Ewa Bjorling, Minister of Trade: March 25, to attend a trade
conference at the House of Sweden, together with Foreign Advisor
Anders Ahnlid.
-- Andreas Carlgren, Minister for the Environment: March 30-April 3,
together with his Czech counterpart; May 18 he will visit Brazil and
hopes to travel to the U.S. after.
-- Fredrik Reinfeldt, Prime Minister: would like to visit in March,
depending on availability of POTUS.
-- Carl Bildt, Minister for Foreign Affairs: April/May, together
with Director-General for Political Affairs, Bjorn Lyrvall,
depending on availability of the Secretary.
