(C) On April 15, Acting Economic Counselor shared reftel
points on Kosovo's IMF and World Bank membership bid with
Bjorn Fritjofsson, Swedish World Bank Alternate, and IMF
Alternate Barbro Wikman-Parak. The Swedish World Bank
Governor is Minister of Finance Anders Borg, and the Swedish
IMF Governor is Swedish Central Bank Governor Stefan Ingves.
Post repeatedly tried to contact the two governors but was
unsuccessful.


2. (C) Fritjofsson told us that although Sweden had not
formally determined how it would vote, he believed that
Sweden was very likely to support Kosovo's World Bank
membership bid. Wikman-Parak commented that Sweden was one
of the first countries to recognize Kosovo and that she was
confident that Sweden would support Kosovo's bid for
membership in the IMF.
