SUBJECT: THE NEXT PHASE FOR THE CCD PORTAL SERVICE

REF: 08 STATE 121441

1. Summary. In approximately two months, any link
leading to the legacy Consular Consolidated Database
(CCD) portal will no longer work. The new, easier-to-
use CCD Portal Service (CCDPS) will be the only path
available to access the CCD. This release of CCDPS is
for OpenNet and interagency users. CCDPS comes in two
modes - basic and expanded. The online user manual
provides step-by-step guidance on CCDPS features, use,
and access. With ample screenshot illustrations, the
manual serves both as a reference work and a training
tool. End Summary.

--------------
CCDPS BASIC
--------------

2. CCDPS Basic is a robust framework that replaces the
current CCD interface with the following improvements:

a. The REPORTS MENU toggle allows users to hide the
menu to provide for more screen space to view reports.

b. The MOST RECENT REPORTS submenu keeps a user's most
recently accessed reports at the top of the menu.

c. An enhanced column sorting and grouping function for
all reports lets users customize how they view reports.

d. A complete online user manual provides easy access
to questions about the CCDPS.

--------------
CCDPS EXPANDED
--------------

3. The CCDPS Expanded version (launched from a button
on the Basic toolbar) provides the capability to perform
comparative analysis by allowing users to:

a. View two or more reports at the same time.

b. Send reports to separate windows.

c. Maintain multiple reports active at the same time.

d. Save report parameter settings.

e. Sort reports by columns.

--------------
GETTING STARTED
--------------

4. If you access the CCD from a desktop icon, follow
the steps below to reset the icon:

a. Right-click the desktop icon and choose properties.

b. In the Web Document tab, replace the path in the
'URL' field with the following:

https://cadata.ca.state.gov/CCDPS/Reports/Bas ic.aspx?Mod
e=OpenNet

c. Click the General tab and type 'CCDPS.'

d. Click OK.

5. The CCDPS homepage is blank except for the menu bars
on the top and the left-hand side. Click on the Logon
button in the upper left-hand corner to open the User
Authentication page and log in using your normal CCD
User Name, User Password, and User Location.

The URLs are new:

Basic link:
https://cadata.ca.state.gov/CCDPS/Reports/Def ault.aspx

https://cadata.ca.state.gov/CCDPS/Reports/Bas ic.aspx?Mod
e=OpenNet (from CA-Web)

Expanded link (launched from a button (arrow icon) on
the Basic toolbar):
https://cadata.ca.state.gov/CCDPS/Default.htm

Once you are logged in, you should see "CCD Portal

STATE 00092421 002 OF 002

Service 02.02.00" at the top of the browser.

6. Intelink-U users may access CCDPS through the
following URL:
https://ccdi.intelink.gov/CCDPS/Interagency.a spx

7. OSIS.GOV users may access CCDPS through the
following URL:

Basic version:
https://ccdi.state.osis.gov/CCDPS/Reports/Bas ic.aspx

Expanded version:
https://ccdi.state.osis.gov/CCDPS/Interagency .htm

8. Individuals needing a CCD account who serve in the
United States or at posts without consular services will
find relevant information on the Welcome page and under
the Support tab ("Request CCD Account"). Individuals at
posts abroad with consular services should contact the
CST Administrator in your consular section to request a
CCD account.

--------------
USING CCDPS
--------------

9. The CCDPS has a complete online user manual which
opens when the user clicks on the question mark icon on
the horizontal toolbar. The user manual provides step-
by-step guidance on CCDPS features, use, and access, and
provides ample screenshot illustrations. The manual is
both a reference work and a training tool. We encourage
users to use the manual as a tour guide for their
initial exploration of CCDPS.

10. We encourage you to provide feedback to the CA
Overseas SupportDesk (supportdeskca@state.gov),or
alternatively complete a survey at:
http://caweb.ca.state.gov/ca_survey/surveys/c stccdps.htm

11. In approximately two months, the Office of Consular
Systems and Technology (CA/CST) will disable the former
path to the CCD. We will send a cable shortly before we
remove it. Once this happens, all users will be
required to use the new CCDPS to access the CCD.
Therefore, we encourage users to make the switch as soon
as possible.

12. Minimize considered.
