HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL 11TH REGULAR SESSION

1. (U) Action Request: Mission Geneva is authorized to
co-sponsor the EU resolution on "Human Rights situation in
Sudan" in the United Nations Human Rights Council's 11th
Regular Session. Mission should also actively lobby other
HRC members, in particular Africans, to seek their support
for the EU resolution. Mission should use its judgment in
determining the optimum timing to declare co-sponsorship.
Mission should seek guidance from the Department if the
substance of the resolution changes. Suggested textual edits
will be forthcoming by email.
