1. This is an action request. Please see paragraph three.
2. Poloff delivered reftel update to Rodrigo Toledo from the
Bureau of International and Human Security at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. Toledo welcomed the addition of the United
Nations Office on Drug and Crime as an observer to the Global
Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT). Per reftel, Poloff
contacted the Russian Embassy in Santiago and arranged to deliver a
joint message, but the Russian officer failed to attend the
meeting.
3. ACTION REQUEST: Toledo asked if funding is available to
support Chilean participation in the next GICNT meeting in January.
Please advise Post if any financial support is available.
