Per reftel, econoff met with Jorge Ossa, Assistant Director for
Candidacies in the Multilateral Policies office of the MFA, on Nov.
23. Ossa informed econoff that Chile would support the United
States as a candidate for the WHO Executive Board if it came to a
vote in May 2010. Ossa's office had already coordinated with the
Ministry of Health to come to this decision. The MFA subsequently
sent a dipnote note confirming that it will support the United
States' candidacy to the WHO Executive Board "with pleasure."
