1. (C) The Italian MFA is eager to cooperate with us and
others to obtain a favorable resolution to the American
Cooperative School of Tunis (ACST) tax situation. MFA
Counselor Lorenzo Morini from the Maghreb Office, stated he
would discuss this issue with the Italian Ambassador in
Tunisia, Ambassador D'Andria, immediately. Morini
understands the importance of the school and suggested that
we encourage the Czech government to intervene in its
capacity as EU President.
