1. Pol/Mil Counselor delivered points in reftel on June 15,
2009 to Ambassador Adnan Baghdadi, Counselor in the MFA
International Organization Department.
2. Amb. Baghdadi expressed appreciation for the information
about the proposed international piracy tribunal and on the
USG position opposing efforts to create the new tribunal. He
said that the Saudi government was aware of and was currently
evaluating the issue but had not yet reached a position.
Post will follow up with Amb. Baghdadi in the days ahead and
report any significant updates.
