1. (SBU) In response to ref A, Post strongly supports the
work of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Saudi Arabia. Our
bilateral health collaboration with the Kingdom is incredibly
valuable and we are eager to support continued work in this
area. We will, however, be in a better position to decide if
we can support a second CDC position at Embassy Riyadh after
we receive more information about how this Field Epidemiology
Training Program (FETP) position aligns with the existing CDC
attache position. We look forward to working with CDC on
this request after the Embassy and SAG's return from the Eid
holiday December 5.
