1. SUMMARY: The Latvian health authorities have confirmed five new
cases of H1N1 in Latvia between July 11 and July 14, bringing the
total to six. They report that the actual number might be higher
because people with mild cases of H1N1 might be undiagnosed and
simply recovering at home. To date, the health authorities do not
consider any of these cases as serious. END SUMMARY

CASE ONE

2. The first confirmed case reported in reftel quickly recovered
after a week of treatment.

CASE TWO

seeking treatment for flu-like symptoms at a local hospital, the
patient was immediately transferred to the Latvian Infectious
Disease Center for testing and treatment. She has a mild case of
H1N1.

CASES THREE THROUGH FIVE

4. These cases were three members of the Latvian dance group who
recently visited Mexico.

CASE SIX
