4 (b) & (d).
Political officer delivered the reftel points to Veronika
Kuchynova-Smigolova, the Czech MFA's Director of Security
Policy, and her deputy, Petr Chalupecky on March 3. They
appreciated receiving the points and expressed their
government's support. They also mentioned that they hoped our
decision might lead to greater cooperation between Czech and
U.S. special forces in Afghanistan. (Note: The Czechs have
around 100 special forces troops in Afghanistan in 2009.
However, the Czech special forces will come home late this
year and are scheduled to spend 2010 recuperating and
training. Therefore, the MOD is not planning to propose a
SOF deployment for next year. End Note.)
