1. (U) GOTT Minister of Health Jerry Narace announced Trinidad and
Tobago's first confirmed H1N1 case on June 5. The patient was
described as an adult female national of Trinidad and Tobago. Her
history of recent travel to several countries affected by the virus
makes it impossible to pinpoint where she picked it up. According
to the Ministry, the symptoms are mild and the patient is doing
well; she remains in isolation and under monitoring. The Ministry
has also tested individuals who have come into contact with the
patient; as of June 5 none have tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
Trinidad and Tobago has not asked for USG assistance.
