1. (SBU) In accordance with Leahy Amendment requirements for
human rights verification, AmEmbassy Oslo possesses no
credible evidence of gross violations of human rights by the
Norwegian Jaegerkorpts (Norwegian Special Operations Forces)
as of March 26, 2009. Point of contact at AmEmbassy Oslo is
George Noll, Deputy Political and Economic Counselor.


2. (SBU) The Norwegian Army Special Operations Command,
known as Haerens Jegerkommando or Forsvarets Spesialkommando
in Norwegian has been frequently vetted with no indication of
any human rights violations. This unit is based at Camp Rena
in Osterdalen. Commanding officer of the Norwegian Special
Operations Command is Captain Jan Berglund.
