1.(SBU) On March 19th US Embassy Nassau sent Diplomatic Note No.
048/09 regarding the invitation from Assistant Secretary of Defense
Joseph Benkert (reftel). The MFA acknowledged invitation by
Diplomatic Note No. MFA/LAD/140 dated 25 March 2009. Full text is
located in paragraph 2.
2. (SBU) BEGIN TEXT:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of
America and has the honour to acknowledge the latter's Note No.
048/09, dated 19 March, 2009, transmitting a letter of invitation to
attend the Proliferation Security Initiative Operational Export
Group Meeting, scheduled to take place from 12-13 May, 2009, in
Miami, Florida.
The Ministry, in this regard, wishes to advise that the relevant
authorities have been informed accordingly.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas
avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the
United States of America the assurances of its highest
consideration.
