Rights Silvia Izquierdo on October 23. Ms. Izquierdo
appreciated the constructive nature of this demarche and its
early communication. She said the GOU will seek a balanced
and moderate outcome from the Goldstone Report, but could not
promise that it would support all USG principles laid out in
the demarche. She said Uruguay would seek to limit the use
of the HRC for political objectives or to push a particular
religious view over another.
