DEFAMATION OF RELIGION RESOLUTION

1. (U) On March 26, post delivered reftel demarche to the
MFA's Director of Human Rights, Laura Dupuy. The MFA's Human
Rights Department accepted the points and agrees with the
U.S. position on the "defamation of religions" resolution.
Dupuy said that the GOU hoped to offer a text change that
would be satisfactory to all members. However, she was not
optimistic that the proposed text would be accepted, and
stated that in that case, the GOU planned to change its
abstention to a "no" vote.
