ADMINISTRATIVE AND BUDGETARY QUESTIONS
1. Mexico's Foreign Secretariat (SRE),per diplomatic note
1070 dated March 3, 2009, addressed to the Embassy, advised
us that Mexico advised us that Mexico has presented Carlos
Ruiz Massieu as a candidate to the Committee on
Administrative and Budgetary Questions for the period
2011-2013 for elections scheduled to take place during the
65th session of the General Assembly in 2010. Ruiz has been
a member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 1999 with a Law
Degree from the Iberoamericana University and a Masters
Degree in Political Science from the University of Essex in
England. He has extensive experience in the United Nations
with the lead on many issues within intergovernmental bodies,
as Mexico's representative in ECOSOC and on the second
committee of the General Assembly, the Executive Boards of
the UNDP and UNICEF, and as the Alternate Representative on
the Security Council. Since 2007, Ruiz has been Mexico's
coordinator on administrative and budgetary issues.
2 Action Request: Embassy requests Department guidance on
responding to Mexico's appeal for support.
