On April 17 Pol-Econ officer passed reftel points and the
diplomatic note to MFA Deputy Director for International
Political Organizations Frederico Nascimento. Nascimento
said only that Portugal welcomes the U.S. candidacy and looks
forward to increased collaboration on human rights issues
within the Council.
