1. After tallying the results of a recount, the Kuwaiti
Constitutional Court on October 28 replaced MP Dr. Badi
Al-Dosari with former MP Khaled Al-Adwa. (Note: The
Constitutional Court reviewed several cases against sitting
MPs ranging from charges against two of the new female MPs
for not complying
with a supposed Shari'a imposition to wear the hijab (ref A),
to minor voting irregularities, and to a weapons charge
against MP Mubarak Al-Wa'lan. Of the pending files, the
court applied a ruling only on the recount case against
Al-Dosari. End note).
2. Per ref B list of MPs elected on May 16 to the Kuwaiti
National Assembly, the following provides brief bio data on
MP Khaled Al-Adwa:
-- Khaled Salem Abdullah Al-Adwa
Sect: Sunni
Political leanings: Pro-government, but in the past was
linked to Islamists.
Tribe: Al-Ajmi
Votes: 13,115 (after the recount)
Previous Parliaments: 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2006.
DOB: 1959
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Shari'a, Kuwait University.
