1. Pol/Econ Chief delivered reftel demarche June 9 to Mr.
Nkoloi Nkoloi, Director of the Department of Europe and the
Americas at the Botswana Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Poloff
stressed Ms. Myers long experience in personnel matters,
including her exemplary service on the ICSC. She also noted
the need for balance on the commission and emphasized that
the other candidates for this contested election are all from
within the EU. Mr. Nkoloi promised to share our message and
copies of Ms. Myers CV with his colleagues in Multilateral
Affairs. He agreed that Ms. Myers' qualifications are
strong. He offered no other substantive reply to the
demarche.
