TRENDS IN QATAR - AGENDA FOR EMBASSY DOHA'S SECOND OFF-SITE

REF: A. 2008 DOHA 664

B. 2008 DOHA 574

Classified By: Amb. Joseph LeBaron, reasons 1.4 (b) and (d).

Following is the agenda for Embassy Doha's second interagency
off-site, to be held March 3, 2009 at CENTCOM Forward HQ at
Camp As-Sayliah. These off-sites will be held twice yearly,
with the objective of reviewing and updating our field
interagency assessment of key trends in Qatar over the coming
36 months. Specifically, we will focus on:

-- What are the most important trends with greatest
implications for U.S. interests in Qatar?
-- What are our expectations for those trends over the next
36 months?
-- Have these expectations changed since establishment of the
Mission's first field interagency assessment in September
2008?

The off-site will conclude with a discussion of the USG
policy imperatives which flow from these trends, and a look
at mechanisms for interagency synchronization to most
effectively pursue those policy imperatives.

0800 Introduction (Amb. LeBaron)
0815 Interagency Presentations (15 minutes each)
