1. Post delivered reftel demarche on Iran to the MFA's Acting
Director for External Relations, Elisa Da Silva, on September
14.
2. Ms. Da Silva expressed her appreciation for the information
on the U.S. position and indicated she would convey it to
Foreign Minister Da Costa, currently on official travel in
Vietnam. She believed Timor-Leste's public and private comments
would be influenced by President Obama's non-proliferation and
nuclear disarmament discussions at the UN Security Council on
September 24.
3. NOTE: Timor-Leste is not a member of the International
Atomic Energy Agency and will not be participating in the
General Conference meeting in Vienna.
