SUBJECT: MOLDOVA RECEIVED DEMARCHE CONCERNING
RATIFICATION OF THE US-IAEA ADDITIONAL PROTOCOL

We delivered reftel talking points to Mr. Dorin
Panfil, the new head of NATO and Politico-Military
Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 30
January 2009. Panfil stated that the Government
of Moldova would remain thoroughly engaged in
international efforts on the topic of atomic
energy. Panfil also noted that the Government of
Moldova intends to fulfill all of its obligations
to the IAEA. He said that he would inform his
superiors of the topic of the demarche.
