1. (SBU) Argentine MFA Director for Policy Coordination
Rafael Grossi confirmed April 14 to Poloff that Argentina
will submit a legal brief to the ICJ that is generally
supportive of the Serbian challenge to Kosovo's independence
declaration. Grossi was not able to share details of the
Argentine position (see refs B-D for previous discussions of
Kosovo).
2. (SBU) On April 13, Poloff used ref A points to discuss a
possible Argentine submission with Jose Minta on the Balkans
Desk. He appreciated explanation of U.S. concerns and shared
a general understanding of the U.S. position on Kosovo.
