1. (SBU) EconOff delivered reftel points to Bernadett Kollar,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Head of Unit for International
Organizations. Ms. Kollar stated that while she was not
specifically aware of the Food and Agricultural
Organization's (FAO) proposed budget increase, Hungary would
likely take a similar stance as the U.S. on this issue. She
added that unexpected budget increases--not just with the FAO
but with UN organizations in general--make Hungary's budget
planning difficult. Kollar stated that further internal
coordination would take place with the Ministry of
Agriculture and its Brussels Permrep. EconOff asked Kollar
to share Hungary's position with us if something different
than expected emerges.
