PARTY LEADER FODOR
1. Following is the text of a congratulatory message to
President Obama from Gabor Fodor, President, Alliance of Free
Democrats, The Hungarian Liberal Party, received January 21,
2009.
2. Begin text
I am pleased to send you my warmest congratulations on your
inauguration as President of the United States. You face a
formidable task of leadership at difficult times, but your
inauguration is a symbol of hope.
Your election is in many ways the American dream come true.
It is a historic moment not only because you are the first
African-American president, but because it gives us strong
hope worldwide in equality, political change and renewal.
You are a source of inspiration for those in Hungary who
believe in tolerance and equal opportunity for all and that
ones religion, race or color of skin cannot stand in the way
of reaching even the highest political office of our Republic.
I wish you and your family all the success in carrying out
your enormous task.
Kind regards,
Gabor Fodor
President
