1. (SBU) Slovakia does not have any MI-17 helicopters
immediately available for donation, lease or sale. Slovakia
has approximately 15 MI-17s, of which fewer than 10 are
operational. Slovakia plans to use these helicopters through
the end of their service lives in 2012 and then replace them.
DAO reports that Slovakia might be willing to sell 1-3
MI-17s, but that these would require extensive repairs and
maintenance before they could be used in Pakistan.
2. (SBU) Slovakia has 1-3 excess MI-24s which they have been
considering how to dispose of for over a year. The MI-24s
would require total overhaul prior to use in Pakistan.
