(S) On July 1, EconOff delivered ref A non-paper to German
MFA Export Control Division Desk Officer Iris Wilczoch. In
addition, Econoff encouraged Germany to provide a current
assessment of the state of Russia's chemical/biological
weapon (CBW)-related programs and the robustness of their
CBW-related technology export controls. Wilczoch said her
section's lead on AG exports, Markus Klinger, would take the
lead in responding to the non-paper requests. Post will
report any substantive German response septel.
