nonpapers urging China to investigate and prevent the supply
of material and testing equipment for use in Pakistan's
ballistic missile production program to MFA Arms Control and
Disarmament Department Biological and Chemical Weapons
Division Deputy Director Yang Yi on March 31. Yang noted
China's desire to deal with proliferation cases "in an
effective and cooperative fashion," but complained that
details in these and "many other cases" presented by the
United States were "vague." China would nevertheless
"investigate these cases" and "see what we could do."
