manager of the private radio station NDEKE LUKA, Ms. Sylvie
Benguere Panika as candidate for subject program. Her biodata
is as follows:

7. (U) Post Objective for Nomination: As part of Post's effort
to promote democratic values through the strengthening of the
private press, we nominate Ms. Panika, manager of the private
radio station Ndeke Luka, for this program. Radio Ndeke Luka
plays a crucial role in civil society development by devoting
programming to civic education, good governance, human rights,
and the peace and reconciliation process. She is very active in
promoting women's participation in the political process and set
up programming on women's issues and civic awareness. We
believe that her exposure to American radio station management
and broadcasting techniques will be invaluable for the radio
station's efforts in the CAR. She is a President of the newly
created Women's Journalist Association and member of the
independent Central African Journalist Association. She was
recently promoted to manager of the radio station and is highly
recommended by her supervisor and colleagues to participate to
this workshop.
