1. Post appreciates OBO's quick concurrence on the need for more
office space, and its recognition of the excellent opportunity the
soon to be vacated USAID office space in the GPF Witthaya Tower A
represents.

2. Post has collected and is forwarding the items requested in
paragraph 2 of Reftel A to Daniel O'Donoghue in OBO/PRE/BAS.

3. Total desks to relocate to the GPF building is 102. ICASS desks
total 66, including 30 from the Regional Human Resource Office, and
36 from various General Services Office components including:
Mission Visits, Customs and Shipping, Procurement and the
Supervisory GSO. The Public Affairs Section has 36 desks, as well
as space for the Information Resource Center and a multipurpose room
for general public diplomacy programming.

4. Post ICASS council has been briefed, and fully supports the plan
to take over the USAID leases in the GPF building. In addition, the
appropriate offices in the EAP Bureau have been notified regarding
the space for the Public Affairs Section, and the possible need for
additional program funds.
