1. This cable is U.S. Embassy Bamako's response to the
questions posed in reftel.
2. Mali is a recipient of U.S. foreign assistance and is
expected to receive such funding in FY09.
3. Mali's National Assembly approves the budget each
December. It is then published and distributed by the
Ministry of Finance to all government ministries. The budget
is available to the public upon request at the National
Statistics Office.
4. Projected income and expenditures are included in the
budget. The National Assembly conducts a budgetary review in
June and adjusts revenue targets and expenditures.
