1. The Government of Greece has completed the process to
ratify the NATO accession of Croatia and Albania. Law 3753
-- the Parliament's ratification of the accession protocols
for Croatia and Albania -- was published in the "Official
Gazette" and became official on March 4, 2009. MFA sources
have confirmed that the instruments of ratification are being
sent to the Greek Embassy in Washington on March 9. We
understand that the Greek Embassy in Washington will be in
touch with the Department to deposit the instruments of
ratification this week.
