1. (C) Late on September 14 the Ambassador met with MFA
Under Secretary Sinirlioglu and delivered REF A points on
Turkey's key role in expressing our shared concern about
Iran's nuclear program, and the potential for an already
delicate security situation to unravel. Sinirlioglu asserted
that FM Davutoglu during his September 12-13 Tehran visit had
given this message clearly to his Iranian counterpart. "We
told them that the offer is on the table but time is running
out," Sinirlioglu said. The Ambassador underscored that the
USG would like Turkey to speak more loudly on this issue.
2. (C) The Ambassador used the opportunity to ask for GOT
assistance in urging Iran'sleadership to resolve the six
missing/detained Amcit cases (REF B). He passed over a
nonpaper providing the background information. Sinirlioglu
was receptive, and instructed his subordinate to follow up.
