1. Reftel requested that post conduct post-shipment verifications at
Medline International, Jebal Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE for the
shipment of a Universal Microplate Reader and Auto Plate Washer both
exported as QA34z reference for Medline. An internet search shows
a Canadian based Medline (www.medline.com/International)which only
has an Israel office in the Middle East region.) The phone number
provided in supporting documentation is for Air Link International,
a large scale freight forwarder/shipping firm located in the Jebel
Ali Free Zone.
3. On February 11, 2009 ECO contact a Mr. Prakash, Customer Service
Representative (U.S. Shipments),Air Link International, Jebal Ali
Free Zone. ECO provided the shipment details for these transactions
and explained the Air Link was also listed as a Consignee along with
Medline on shipping documentation. Prakash advised he had no records
associated with these shipments nor was he aware of a Medline
International. He explained that Air Link's contract with the U.S.
shipping agent (Schenker Inc, Freeport, NY) ended nearly two years
back. He also explained that Air Link changed its software systems
shortly thereafter and as such they would not have the ability
determine the shipping details that far back.
4. Post considers this PSV to be inconclusive as we are unable to
locate Medline International in the UAE.
